How can others support this mission?

  • Supporting this mission can take various forms, and each contribution makes a difference. Here are some ways others can support the Fraternity’s mission:

2023 Updates

  • VENEZUELA: From Friday, September 29 to October 1, 2023, the XIV National FAMA
  • Meeting was held in our mission in Venezuela. What is F.A.M.A.?
    • It is the acronym for “Fraternidades de Apoyo María Auxilio de los Cristianos” (Fraternities of Mary Help of Christians to support with prayer vocations) They are lay people who create small fraternities. communities, to pray for vocations to the missionary priesthood and consecrate their lives to Mary Help of Christians.
  • They met in the parish of San Juan Evangelista, Paracotos, a town one hour from Caracas.
  • The theme of this meeting was “Listening and Announcing the Good News is how FAMA lives Synodality” 78 members of FAMA attended from several of our parishes where we have missionaries: Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Caracas, Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary of Las Brisas, San Pancracio Martir of Las Aguitas, Santa Eduvigis of Naguanagua, Our Lady of Peace of Guanarito, Puerto Ordaz, and the hosts who were San Juan Evangelista de Paracotos.
  • Four priests of the Fraternity participated in this meeting:
    • Fr. José Ines missionary in Caracas,
    • Fr. Francisco missionary in Guanare,
    • Fr. Hugo missionary in Valencia and
    • Fr. Joselin who was the host.
  • In addition to receiving formation, they had their moments of spirituality and mission.
  • They visited different communities, visiting homes in the morning, and in the afternoon, calling people to an evangelization assembly.

2018 Updates

  • Fall 2018 – We remain committed to this mission and have 15 priests working in pastoral ministry in Venezuela. 
    • They are united with the people and are suffering the same shortages and difficulties as the people.  Please pray for them.
