Aggiornamenti sulla missione corrente

2026 Updates

• Currently, the Fraternity’s missionary presence is concentrated in the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil, Quebec.
• The priests present are:
  • Fr. Carlos Enrique Cana Pérez, serving at Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys Parish.
  • Fr. José Luis Sucuc Sajbin, serving in the Old Longueuil pastoral unit.
    • This pastoral unit comprises three parishes:
      • Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue,
      • Le Bon Pasteur, and
      • La Visitation.
  • In April, Father Albin Alvarado joined the mission. He is currently undergoing an immersion and inculturation process, learning the French language and local culture for one year. After this year of preparation, he will receive his specific assignment.

• The missionary work our priests are currently carrying out follows the diocese’s pastoral guidelines, which can be summarized as follows:
  •      Being a “Church going forth”, always at the service of the most needy.
  •      Serving residents in homes for the elderly (celebrating the Eucharist and the Anointing of the Sick).
• Serving the various groups within the parishes (Legion of Mary, Cursillo, catechumens, First Communion and Confirmation catechesis, youth ministry, liturgy ministry, etc.).
  •      Accompanying women on pastoral teams (pastoral agents).
  •      And, specifically, attending to Spanish-speaking communities.
• Picture 1: The priests celebrating the Eucharist, now including Fr. Albin Alvarado, who is in the center.
• In June 2024, our missionaries launched a group called “Fraternity Aid Groups” (*Fraternidades de Apoyo*). These consist of lay faithful who have decided to embrace the Fraternity’s charism, praying for missionary vocations and assisting the Fraternity in any way they can.
