• Dalla foresta amazzonica della nostra missione di San Agustín de Intuto, nel Vicariato Apostolico di Iquitos.

• Missionari che vivono in comunità fraterna.
  • Missionari: Carlos Román, Rómulo Oliva e Santos Tarton, che vivono insieme in fraternità all'interno di questo contesto missionario.
  • La prima sfida per una comunità di sacerdoti missionari è mantenere una vita di fraternità; questo stile di vita sarà sempre il loro modo principale di servire la comunità attraverso l'esempio della loro vita nella missione.

• Le sfide della missione nella foresta amazzonica.
  • La seconda grande sfida che i nostri missionari affrontano a Intuto è la geografia. Quando i nostri missionari viaggiano da Iquitos, la città più grande della foresta amazzonica, a Intuto (la nostra missione), prendono sempre una barca.
  • Il viaggio da Iquitos a Intuto dura solitamente dai 3 ai 4 giorni. Possono ridurre il viaggio di un giorno percorrendo l'unica strada nella giungla che collega Iquitos a Nauta, che è lunga circa 90 chilometri. Da Nauta, devono inevitabilmente continuare il loro viaggio in barca per 2 o 3 giorni per raggiungere Intuto.

• La Missione Intuto, una missione lungo il fiume Tigre.
  • Da Intuto visitano varie comunità lungo il fiume Tigre. Tutti gli spostamenti avvengono in barca o con piccole motolance.
  • Il costo elevato della missione nella giungla è dovuto al carburante necessario per visitare tutte le comunità. Le comunità sono povere e non possono permettersi le spese di viaggio dei missionari. Ci sono donatori abbastanza generosi da aiutare a coprire questi costi di viaggio.
  • Si prega di prendere in considerazione di sostenere l'opera dei missionari.

• La formazione biblica nella nostra missione.
  • I nostri missionari conducono laboratori di studio biblico per i leader delle comunità pastorali per aiutarli a studiare la Parola di Dio.
  • La formazione biblica è fondamentale per i leader comunitari in tutte le comunità.

• Avvento e Natale 2025, un tempo per visitare le comunità.
  • Il periodo dell'Avvento ha offerto ai nostri missionari l'opportunità di accompagnare le comunità, visitandole e preparandole al Natale.

Aggiornamenti 2024

• Nuovo missionario per la missione di Intuto, Vicariato Apostolico di Iquitos, Perù.
  • Su November 5, 2024 – Father Carlos Román arrived in Peru to join the mission in the Amazon jungle, Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos, Peru.
  • This mission presents great missionary challenges due to the vast geographical area and the challenges of river mobility to visit all the communities entrusted to them.

• July 2024:
• The Fraternity has maintained a longstanding presence in the Iquitos Apostolic Vicariate, nestled deep within the rainforests of Peru.
• Our new mission is now centered in the city of Lima at Santa Rosa de Callo Parish, within the diocese of El Callao.
• Fr. Eder Escobar, our former General Superior, openly embraced a new assignment and has been appointed as the new Pastor.
• He will receive assistance from Father Pedro Lima, who previously ministered in Belice.
• It is a blessing to expand our presence in Peru, and we eagerly anticipate serving in this new mission while supporting our fellow priests currently in the country. 
   

• At Santa Rosa del Callao Parish, one of the key commitments is nurturing a closer relationship with Jesus among the new generations of Catholics.
• The parish’s Youth groups are highly active and engaged.
• Their primary focus is to inspire young people to turn toward Jesus, especially those who may be grappling with their faith.
• Their motto is “Children helping other Children.”
• Fr. Eder, as depicted in the picture, provides spiritual support and guidance to these young missionaries.
• Every month, Fraternity priests come together to celebrate the Eucharist and pray the Holy Rosary with the youth, fostering their missionary spirit. 
   

• In Lima, Peru, the population continues to grow as many individuals leave rural areas and migrate to larger cities like Lima in search of employment opportunities.
• Unfortunately, job availability is limited, leading to feelings of discouragement.
• The Fraternity, through this parish, focuses on providing hope and encouragement to these people. They emphasize the power of prayer and belief in Jesus Christ.
• Our Blessed Mother is always present, emphasizing Marian spirituality.
• In the picture, Fraternity priests participate in a procession with the Holy Sacrament through the streets of El Callao, Peru. 🙏

2023 Updates

• Newly ordained Deacon Fernando Avila was assigned to the Iquitos Vicariate.

2022 Updates

• One more additional priest from the mission is now in the Vicariate of Iquitos.

2021 Updates

• New Mission site in the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos. Two Fraternity priests were assigned as pastors of the Sagrada Familia Parish (Holy Family Parish).

2019 Updates

•  Our Mission in Peru is located in the Apostolic Vicariate of Iquitos, Intuto, in the rainforest of the country.

• Currently, a Fraternity Priest and three transitional deacons are serving the people of God in this area with different pastoral, liturgical, and spiritual activities.

• Fr. Gaspar and the three deacons (David, Gaspar and Orcar) dedicate their pastoral ministry to help the entire community in Intuto to build a strong faith in Jesus Christ.

• Deacon Oscar Chirix teaching catechesis for children in preparation for their 1st. Holy Communion.

• Workshop and Catechesis for adults has been the best way to form Small Christian Communities in Intuto

• The only way to visit the mission sites is through the amazon rivers (Tigre and Marañon rivers) and the only means of transport is by boat. Deacon David Xinico teaches religion and human values in a public school in Intuto town.
• There are 360 students, 45% are from Intuto town, and 65% from distant villages. Out of these 360 students, few are Catholics, many of these young people come from divided families, and some of them with drug and alcohol problems.
• Deacon David imparts Moral Theology to these students and at the same time, he becomes a counselor for them.
• Students see in his light and hope and someone in whom they rely upon guidance. After school classes, Deacon spends some time teaching the students how to play the guitar. Friendship is built up and during the academic school year, he invites them to attend church. A good number of students have embraced the Catholic faith.
