Ordaining priests to work in pastoral ministry is the reason for their existence and justifies their presence within the Church throughout the world. The Missionary Fraternity of Mary was founded as a missionary society to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to both those who have never heard the news and to those who have heard but are not being served and nurtured. The Fraternity, headquartered in Guatemala, continues its mission of serving over 750,000 Catholics in 11 countries.

The annual Budget of the Fraternity is $500,000 overall, $300,000 are dedicated to our Formation Programs. The other $200,000 covers expenses for mission work in countries where the need is the greatest.

Where does the support come from?
Every year we do Mission Appeals and with the funds collected from Mission Appeals in the United States and Canada, we can cover the 40 to 50% of our annual budget. There is a variability of mission appeals, depends upon the economy and types of parishes assigned by mission directors.
And the other 50% comes from our benefactors.
Our investment per seminarian
The annual cost of educating a seminarian is $3,500 at the seminary in Guatemala.
As we mentioned previously, most of our candidates cannot afford to pay for their formation, they come from environments of poverty and is part of the charism of the Fraternity to help those with a true vocation to the priesthood.
Your donation to the Missionary Fraternity of Mary goes directly to:
Support the formation of young men for ordination to the priesthood
Support missions in poor areas such as Peru, Kenya and Venezuela.
Provide an opportunity for priests to receive advanced degrees at the Pontifical Universities in Rome (subsequently to share their training as teachers at the Fraternity’s seminary in Guatemalan)
Maintain seminary infrastructure at the campus in Guatemala City
Update textbooks used in formation education as well as the libraries in the minor and major seminaries
